Method
Spread buttercream on top of your favourite cupcake and plop and generous dollop of buttercream in the centre away from the edges. Dust your work surface with cornflour, now roll out and cut out a round sugar paste disc.
Place the disc carefully and centrally on top of the cupcake and gently massage and tuck the edges into place. Use the palm of your hand to give it a smooth dome shape. Keep aside.
Roll out some green sugarpaste into a long string and fold it over to form a scarf shape. Press and flatten the ends and make multiple slits to form fringed scarf ends. Brush a small amount of water on top of the cupcake and place your scarf.
Roll a round ball shape in proportion to the body to form the snowman’s head.
Use a wooden skewer to make indentations for the eyes and nose. Roll out two tiny balls from black sugarpaste and place using a touch of water as glue. Create the nose by shaping the orange sugarpaste into a carrot/cone shape and stick with a brush of water.
Roll out some black sugarpaste very thinly and stick on the snowman’s face to form a smile. Dab some water around the scarf on top of the cupcake and place the head carefully.
Flatten a round ball of red sugarpaste into a circular shape using your fingers and thumb. Brush a tiny amount of water on top of snowman’s head to place his hat. Roll out a tiny white ball out of sugarpaste and stick on top to add detailing to the hat. Stick some tiny rolled out red sugarpaste balls to form buttons and Mr Snowman is ready to become the talk of the table.
